Dyess AFB Flight Simulator Training Facility

Abilene, Texas

HWH served the USACOE as lead subcontractor with 30 percent savings on the design-build reengineering of a $6 million C-130J flight simulator training facility in Abilene, TX.  The use of composite insulated metal panels in lieu of masonry reduced loads on the structural steel frame, while a split boiler and chiller system achieved performance objectives at a lower cost than a pre-packaged unit.  This brought the project back within budget, with the HWH team completing it two months before the simulator arrived.
