Dallas County Garland Government Center
The Garland Government Center involved the conversion of a former Kroger grocery store for use as an office and sub-courthouse building for Dallas County. The existing facility is a one-story concrete tilt-wall building of approximately 51,900 s.f. with a mechanical/electrical mezzanine of 785 s.f. Construction and finish-out of the new interior spaces included new court rooms, office and auxiliary spaces, lobby areas and restroom facilities. The six main functions of the Center include Justice of the Peace Court, Tax Department, Truancy Court, Juvenile Probation, County Constable, and Community Supervision and Corrections.
