KMI Group Manufacturing Expansion
The HWH Group served as Federal New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) consultant to KMI Group, Inc. (KMI) in 2014, and closed on the financing package for their manufacturing plant expansion in December. This development will maintain competitiveness and employment at the Kenton, Tennessee location, and facilitate adding up to 100 new positions at the former Brown Shoe Company site that shed 400 jobs when its operations moved to Mexico. KMI is a global manufacturer and supplier of high performance engineering resins, alloy blends and custom compounds. The company also manufactures in Asia, and has sales teams based in the U.S., Latin America and Asia. KMI has actively supported civic and charitable activities in the Kenton area for the past 14 years, and was named 2013 Exporter of the Year, Plastic Raw Material, by ThinkGlobal, publisher of Commercial News USA and the official export magazine of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The HWH Group, based in Paris, Texas, provides site selection and incentives services to corporate and institutional clients nationwide. This is one of two NMTC financings it helped clients close in December in Obion County, TN, delivering a significant boost to the local economy. HWH President Charles Cayton congratulates KMI President/Owner Kevin Vakili on the achievement, and on the partnership that made it possible.
